MAINTENANCE & RECOMMENDATIONS
QUARTZ
Cleaning the Counter

Before using your marble, quartzite or granite countertops, you must apply a sealant for natural stones, annually for granite and bi-annually for quartzite and granite.

Easy and regular maintenance keeps its original natural shine.

Careful use helps extend the life ...

Quartz countertops can tolerate brief exposures to moderately high temperatures. However, all surface coating materials, including stone, can be damaged by contact with sudden or prolonged temperature change. When the surface is exposed to high temperatures, it may show a different reaction (cracking, discoloration, porosity, etc.) depending on the characteristics of the product. When you need to lay on the surface of frying pans, frying pans, electric stoves or other devices that generate heat, you should put breadboards and pads underneath.

Like all fine materials, quartz countertops meet your needs best when handled with care and attention. This is because it is always easier to wipe up any spilled food before it dries up and turns into a permanent stain.

Remember that detergents containing bleach and washing granules can affect surfaces over time. That is why you should pay special attention when selecting your detergent. Never use cleaning products containing soft or hard and recurring granules, in particular cleaners such as: Vim Cleansing Powder or Cif Crème.

Use cleaning products in liquid or cleaning gel with neutral or almost neutral pH (ordinary cleaning products sold in store shelves) and always rinse the surface with water to remove all detergent residues.

For all stains that are difficult to remove once dried, such as paint, nail polish, chewing gum, mustard and grease, gently scrape with a plastic spatula and then clean the surface with water.

Quartz is one of the hardest minerals in the world, allowing them to have unmatched strength, resistance to and wear and tear. However, like all surfaces, quartz can be permanently damaged by exposure to powerful forces that can weaken its physical properties. Always use a cutting board and placemat to protect the shine of your counter and work bench. It is also necessary to avoid the contact of the stone with the very hot dishes which have just taken out of the oven, for this it is essential to use an intermediate support such as a kitchen board or trivet for saucepan.

Recommended daily cleaning:

Cleaning tools:

A damp cotton cloth, a soft ScotchBrite (3M) cleaning sponge

Household products :

Pure water, liquid detergents, household sprays, liquid cleaner and other non-abrasive cleaning products.

Cleaning method:

Clean the surface with a damp cloth and a little liquid / gel detergent, then rinse with water to prevent any detergent residue remaining on the surface.

Do not apply the chemicals listed below to the QUARTZ surface:

  • Alkaline products containing active hydroxide (such as unblockers for sinks or pipes, CLR brand, etc.),

  • Chlorinated solvents such as trichlorethylene or methylene chloride (paint strippers and thinners).

In the event of any accidental exposure to any of these harmful products, wipe up the material immediately and rinse the entire surface with plenty of clean water to prevent damage. Repeat if necessary.

The samples of each product reflect only the characteristics of the quartz used. The tone and texture of the finished product may show very slight variation.
